Mileage: 270 miles
After an overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Caen we met with John and Jen at the Ibis Styles hotel next to the docks where John gave a pre-tour brief over breakfast.
The Days Riding: So that we were clear of Caen and Lower Normandy, the first part of the morning was riding on dual carriageway/peage. The afternoon was spent working our way across the Loire Valley, with mid morning coffee, lunch then afternoon coffee.

The hotel had an excellent outdoor swimming pool that was welcoming after a day of hot riding.
Parking was in the hotels open air off road car park.
